Four weeks ago, or about a week after my last post, a bunch of NEWS happened.
FIRST NEWS, and the most life-altering: My wife Marci (Agent M2) is pregnant. How about that. After a year of trying, we gave up...so naturally things just took there own course and wham-bam thank you missus, she's going to have a child around mid-February.
Happy? You bet. Scared? A little. We did plan this, after all, but you just can't know how you'll handle it til it happens.
OBSERVATION: Every single person, married or single, with children or not, has 'advice' to give about pregnancy and childbirth. Marci and I have chosen not to listen to any of it, since it mostly consists of how there will be no joy, privacy, sleep, or cool cars in our future. Thanks but no thanks-- we'll just read our baby book, thanks.
OTHER NEWS: We bought a house. That's right, not a 2-bedroom condo, but an honest-to-mortgage HOUSE. Yard and everything. It's got 3 bedrooms, 3 full baths, a studio, an unfinished basement, and a big wide open floorplan for the kitchen/dining/living room that makes it ideal to entertain in.
Plus, one of my oldest friends (17 years and counting) lives seven doors down from me. I can see him on HIS couch while I'm on MY couch watching TV. HOO yeah. The best thing? Laser pointers have enough of a range to reach our respective living rooms from each other's.
OBSERVATION: Domesticity IS pretty. Especially when combined with Equity.
